This Australian Aid funded project aims to provide WASH and rainwater collection facilities for households in settlements and villages affected by climate change and natural disasters and suffering from limited access to water, in order to build resilience in these communities and resist future climate extremes.
42 sets of WASH, rainwater collection and water seal pit toilets, will compliment the homes built through NZAP and where need is identified by other local CSOs. These units will be built to withstand future floods and cyclones including category 4 wind levels. This will protect families from the weather, allow them privacy, and improve hygiene and sanitation as well as improving quality of life in general for residents.
